Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) needs 530 registered nurses to provide “personalized customer care” to members and dependents at point-of-service or in hospitals where they seek treatment. Nurses will be employed as part of the firm’s Customer Assistance, Relations and Empowerment Staff (CARES), and will receive a monthly compensation of about P15,000 plus health insurance coverage.

Nurses interested to join PhilHealth CARES have until February 14, 2012 to apply online. They may email their resumes to hrmdd.admin@philhealth.gov.ph under the subject heading “PhilHealth CARES Application.”

Applicants should have superior communication skills, both oral and written; have the ability to listen and respond to customer concerns; be knowledgeable about MS Office applications; and adept at using online application systems on wireless communication devices. Applicants are expected to be totally customer-focused, passionate about results, and highly resourceful.

At least 530 nurses would be initially deployed starting next month, after PhilHealth completes the recruitment and training processes. Once deployed, nurses would ensure the hassle-free availment of benefits by qualified PhilHealth members via spot eligibility checks in hospitals.

CARES nurses would also help encourage non-members to enlist with PhilHealth, and facilitate payment of insurance premiums in the cashiering units of hospitals. PhilHealth recruit nurses not only because they’ve been trained to provide care for patients but also they recognized that many nurses are having extreme difficulty obtaining employment. The Professional Regulation Commission sees the number of totally unemployed Filipino nurses hitting 298,000 this year, to include the 68,000 who took the licensure exam in December.
